The international sound system at Rio Loco

The Atelier 144 designed this tented interactive exhibition organized on the Filtres meadow in Toulouse during the Rio Loco Festival held on 15-19 June 2011. The exhibition involved a symbolic representation of the world settled around 8 touch-screen multimedia columns displaying audio-visual, photographic and sound materials about music and cultures in the world.

Thanks to a playful use of new technologies, this new space for the Rio Loco Festival was the embodiment of both openness to the festival’s own world and its vanguardist scope.

Multimedia materials came from Mondomix and Arte Live Web archives. They have been staged through a nice simple ergonomic Android-based interactive interface. Each column featured a listening device and a touch pad.
