Folie L9 at the Parc de la Villette

Following extensive renovation, the Parc de la Villette in Paris inaugurated the “Folie information-billeterie L9”, the Parc’s new reception office. The space created by the Folie L9 aims at giving information to each visitor and features several innovating, informative and playful digital installations.

The Atelier 144 has been assigned to create a multi-touch wall and to design the multimedia installations set out in the framework of the Folie L9 renovation and its transformation into a cosy, friendly interactive area. The offered device comes in a large format (4 meters at its base) so that it can serve as a touch display wall.

The device aims at highlighting the following themes:

  • Animated mapping,
  • Presentation of the different areas in the park, such as: La Grande Halle, La Cité des Sciences, La Cité de la Musique, Le Zénith, le Cabaret Sauvage, le Trabendo, etc.
  • The programme of all the events taking place at the Parc,
  • Recreational and playful applications dedicated to children aged 3-12 about life at the Parc: Tschumi’s “Folies”, wildlife, bugs, and so on.

The Atelier 144 also designed a multimedia scenery at the entrance of this area: a bench with 6 iPads hung from metal arms of different height that give access to the information displayed on the Parc de La Villette’s website.
